Moeen, Broad edge England ahead: 1st Test, Day 2 (Lords)

Moeen Ali (87) and Stuart Broad (57) swung late blows to help England to 458. The pair then took 2 wickets each to reduce South Africa to 214-5 at stumps.

Moeen trapped South Africa's best batsman in Hashim Amla and then reached 100 wickets in his 38th Test by removing a well set Dean Elgar (54). Moeen thus became the 3rd fastest to a double of 2000 runs and 100 wickets.

South Africa 214 for 5 (Bavuma 48*, Rabada 9*, Broad 2-27, Moeen 2-35) trail England 458 (Root 190, Moeen 87, Broad 57, Morkel 4-115) by 244 runs.
