Moeen rips thru South Africa for win: 1st Test, Day 4 (Lords)

Allrounder Moeen Ali took a match bag of 10 wickets to give England a 211-run win and kick start the Joe Roots reign on a positive note.

Moeen took 6-53 for match figures of 10-112 as South Africa chasing 331 to win, were bowled out for 119.

Earlier, England crumbled to 233, bolstered only by Jonny Bairstow's 51 to hand back the advantage to the South Africa bowlers after resuming at 119-1.

England 458 (Root 190, Moeen 87, Broad 57*, Stokes 56, Morkel 4-115) and 233 (Cook 69, Bairstow 51, Maharaj 4-85) beat South Africa 361 (Bavuma 59, Elgar 54, Philander 52, de Kock 51, Moeen 4-59) and 119 (Moeen 6-53) by 211 runs.
