Kohli ton inspires crushing 304 run win: 1st Test, Day 4 (Galle)

Out of form skipper Virat Kohli returned to his vintage best by smashing his 17th century as India set Sri Lanka a massive 550 to win.

Spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja picked up three wickets each as India hammered Sri Lanka by 304 runs to win the opening Test.

Karunaratne (97) got stuck in the nineties and fell 3 runs short of a well deserved ton.

India 600 (Dhawan 190, Pujara 153, Pradeep 6-132) and 240 for 3 dec (Kohli 103*, Abhinav 81) beat Sri Lanka 291 (Perera 92*, Mathews 83, Jadeja 3-67) and 245 (Karunaratne 97, Dickwella 67, Ashwin 3-65, Jadeja 3-71) by 304 runs.
