Dhawan smashes 71 ball ton to crush Sri Lanka: 1st ODI (Dambulla)

A power-packed innings from Shikhar Dhawan guided India to a comfortable nine-wicket victory over Sri Lanka.

India rode on Dhawan’s century which came off just 71 balls. India chased down the target in just 28.5 overs with Kohli adding 82 not out. Dhawan's 132 not out contained 21 boundaries and three sixes. This was his 11th ODI hundred off only 71 balls and it was the second quickest hundred against Sri Lanka by an Indian batsman.

Earlier, Sri Lanka were off to a good start making 139 for one wicket in 25 overs before a collapse saw them being bowled out for 216.

India 220 for 1 (Dhawan 132*, Kohli 82*) beat Sri Lanka 216 (Dickwella 64, Axar 3-34, Jadhav 2-26) by nine wickets.
