Windies collapse hands innings win to Kiwis: 1st Test, Day 4 (Wellington)

The suspect West Indies batting crumbled for the second time in the match as the Kiwis pacemen carved them up for an innings win.

Going into lunch at 286 for 5, Windies collapsed to be bundled for 319. The visitors lost 5 for 33 after losing Brathwaite for 91 to concede an innings-and-67-run win.

Neil Wagner’s 2-102 gave him a Test-best haul of 9-141 after his seven-wicket bag in the first innings. He was supported by Matt Henry who finished with 3-57 and Colin de Grandhomme 2-40.

New Zealand 520 for 9 dec. (Blundell 107*, de Grandhomme 105, Roach 3-85) beat West Indies 134 (Wagner 7-39) and 319 (Brathwaite 91, Hetmyer 66, Henry 3-57, de Grandhomme 2-40) by an innings and 67 runs.
