Mendis, Dhananjaya lead SL run feast: 1st Test, Day 3 (Chittagong)

Kusal Mendis and Dhananjaya de Silva hit career best centuries to put Sri Lanka in a strong position against Bangladesh.

Mendis, recently recalled, scored 196 and de Silva hit 173 as Sri Lanka ended on 504-3, just nine runs behind.

At stumps, Roshen Silva was nearing his first century (87 not out), and captain Dinesh Chandimal was with him on 37. Bangladesh toiled hard and took only 2 wickets in the entire day.

Sri Lanka 504 for 3 (Mendis 196, Dhananjaya 173, Roshen 87*) trail Bangladesh 513 by nine runs.
