Elgar powers South Africa ahead: 4th Test, Day 3 (J'burg)

Dean Elgar took one of the greatest catches this century to end Australian skipper Tim Paine’s defiant knock as South Africa applied the blow torch to the visitors.

Paine, who battled to 62 despite nursing a fractured finger and a career-high 50 from paceman Pat Cummins helped Australia to 221.

Dean Elgar dug in to make 39 not out with his side at 134-3 that has them 401-runs ahead.

South Africa 488 and 134 for 3 (Elgar 39*, Du Plessis 34*) lead Australia 221 (Paine 62, Khawaja 53, Cummins 50, Philander 3-30, Rabada 3-53, Maharaj 3-92) by 401 runs.
