Curran counter-attack leaves result on knife edge: 1st Test, Day 3 (Edgbaston)

A late blitz from Sam Curran rescued England to leave the Test poised on a knife edge - 84 runs needed for an Indian win and England just five wickets from an upset.

England slipped to 87-7 but Sam Curran took control to smash 63 as England added another 93 runs. Ishant Sharma took 5-51.

India collapsed to 78-5. Virat Kohli ended the day unbeaten on 43 with his side 110-5, requiring a further 84.

England 287 (Root 80, Ashwin 4-62) & 180 (Curran 63, Ishant 5-51) vs India 274 (Kohli 149, Curran 4-74) & 110-5 (Kohli 43*) with India needing 194 to win.
