2006: Alastair Cook starts Test career with debut century (Nagpur)

21 year old Alastair Cook was plucked midway through the England A tour in the West Indies to replace Marcus Trescothick who had left the 2006 tour of India unwell.

After a frantic dash across continents, Cook made his Test debut 3 days later in Nagpur.

He followed up his 60 in the first innings with a superb unbeaten 104 to set up a declaration but the match was eventually drawn.

March 2006.
