England grabbed the fourth spot in the ICC Test Team Rankings after completing a 4-1 series victory over the No 1 ranked team India.

It was a fairytale finish for Alastair Cook in the final Test. James Anderson became the most successful fast bowler in Test cricket overtaking Glenn McGrath's 563 scalps. K L Rahul's 149 the second highest by an Indian batsman in the fourth innings of a Test after 221 by Sunil Gavaskar also at the Oval in 1979.

Virat Kohli's 593 runs in the series includes 2 centuries and was the highest aggregate on either team.

For England, 20 year old Sam Curran turned in a superb allround performance (221 runs and 11 wickets) to rescue England on several occassions and turn the tide.
