Classy Root ton propels England in front: 2nd Test, Day 3 (Kandy)

Skipper Joe Root seized the moment with a brilliant 124 to put England in charge against Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka fought back to reduce England to 109-4. Root's 15th Test century contained 10 fours and two sixes to anchor England's 9-324. Rory Burns (59) and Ben Foakes (51 not out) provided support to Root.
