Morris, Shamsi extend Aussie pain: Only T20 (Gold Coast)

Chris Morris (2-12) and Tabraiz Shamsi (1-12) led the way as the Proteas restricted Australia to 87-7 in the one-off T20 in front of 12,866 fans at the new Gold Coast stadium to deliver a sixth loss in eight T20 internationals for the home team, its fourth in a row.

Morris struck twice in three deliveries but Glenn Maxwell fought a defiant rearguard with 38 off 23 balls. Shamsi confused the Aussie middle order as they finished on 87-7.

Earlier, skipper Faf du Plessis hit 27 off 15 balls but Australia's bowlers, spearheaded by paceman Nathan Coulter-Nile (2-19) restricted the tourists to 108-6.

South Africa 6-108 (du Plessis 27, de Kock 22; Tye 2-18) beat Australia 7-87 (Maxwell 38; Morris 2-12, Phehlukwayo 2-21) by 21 runs in 10-over match.
