India down Aussies after Dhawan century: 2019 WC #14 [Oval)

Opener Shikhar Dhawan hit a blazing century to set up a 36-run win over Australia.

Dhawan's 117 and his 127-run opening stand with Rohit Sharma laid the foundation for India's massive 352 for five after captain Virat Kohli won the toss. Kohli hit 82 and Pandya smashed 48 to bolster India’s total.

Facing a World Cup record chase, Australia struggled to accelerate despite Steve Smith's 69 as David Warner spent 84 balls making 56. Carey struck 55 not out.

India 352 for 5 (Dhawan 117, Kohli 82, Rohit 57, Hardik 48, Cummins 1-55) beat Australia 316 (Smith 69, Warner 56, Carey 55*, Bhuvneshwar 3-50) by 36 runs.
