India had West Indies down at 189 for 8 after paceman Ishant Sharma picked up his 9th five wicket haul in Test cricket.

The West Indies lost five wickets in the final session as they reeled at 189 for eight, trailing India by 108 runs.

Earlier in the day, Ishant had stitched a crucial 60-run stand with Ravindra Jadeja. Jadeja's 58 helped India post 297.
