Babar leads strong response against Bangladesh: 1st Test, Day 2 (Rawalapindi)

Babar Azam continued his rich vein of form by reaching a career-best 143 not out as Pakistan took charge of the first Test against Bangladesh.

Opener Shan Masood brought up his third Test ton (100) whilst adding 112 with Babar, to put the hosts in a commanding position.

Asad Shafiq added an unbeaten 60, to take Pakistan’s lead to 342-3, a lead of 109.

Pakistan 342 for 3 (Babar 143*, Massod 100, Shafiq 60*, Jayed 2-66) trail Bangladesh 233 (Mithun 63, Afridi 4-53) by 27 runs.
