Rashid, Malan star in last ball win over Australia: 1st T20 (Southampton)

Leg spinner Adil Rashid delivered a brilliant last over as England pulled off a remarkable fightback to beat Australia by two runs in a thrilling first T20.

Earlier, Dawid Malan rescued England with 66 to help set Australia 163. The hosts looked on course for a big total when Jos Buttler breezed to 44 off 29 balls, but his tame dismissal at 64 for one sparked a collapse.

In reply, Australia were cruising to victory, needing just 39 from 38 balls with nine wickets remaining. But the wicket of Steve Smith, one of two wickets to fall in Adil Rashid's final over, sparked a collapse of 4-9 in 14 deliveries.

England 162 for 7 (Malan 66, Buttler 44, Richardson 2-13) beat Australia 160 for 6 (Warner 58, Finch 46, Rashid 2-29) beat by two runs.
