Waiting for you in India: Ashwin hits back at Paine sledge (SCG)

Ravichandran Ashwin hit back sharply at Tim Paine’s sledge late in the day. Paine told Ashwin that he will be waiting for him at the Gabba. “Just like we want to get you to India that will be your last series,” Ashwin hit back.

India toiled away and achieved a heroic draw against the odds when it appeared near impossible at the start of Day 5 at the SCG.

The Aussies slowly became frustrated throughout the day. In a fitting epitaph, Paine dropped Vihari soon after this incident to allow India to escape with an epic draw.
