Bumrah rattles Afghanistan, India romp to win: 2024 T20 World Cup S8 (Barbados)

Paceman Jasprit Bumrah took a career best haul as India beat Afghanistan by 47 runs in a strong start to their Super 8 campaign.

Suryakumar’s 53 laid the foundation for India to post a challenging 181-8.

Bumrah (3-7) rattled Afghanistan with his double strike in the powerplay overs. Arshdeep Singh also claimed three wickets (3-36) and spinners Kuldeep Yadav (2-32) and Axar Patel (1-15) shared three more wickets as Afghanistan were all out for 134 in exactly 20 overs.

India 181 for 8 (Suryakumar 53, Rashid 3-26, Farooqi 3-33) beat Afghanistan 134 (Omarzai 26, Bumrah 3-7) by 47 runs.
