Zimbabwe upset World Champs India: 1st T20 (Harare)

India’s T20 World Cup party was halted as Zimbabwe stunned the reigning world champions, handing them their first defeat in T20Is in 2024.

Zimbabwe started well but leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi with a T20 career-best of 4 for 13 and Washington Sundar (2 for 11) orchestrated a collapse. The home team limped to 115-9 after Madande struck a quick fire 29 not out.

In reply, only skipper Shubman Gill (31) got going for India as the folded for 102. Chatara and Raza took 3 wickets each to trigger the Indian collapse. 

Zimbabwe 115 for 9 (Madande 29*, Bishnoi 4-13) beat India 102 (Gill 31, Chatara 3-16, Raza 3-25) by 13 runs.
