Moor impresses, Ireland edge past Zimbabwe: Only Test, Day 2. (Belfast)

Opener Peter Moor struck 79 for Ireland leaving the historic Test against Zimbabwe finely poised.

Moor (79) and Andy Balbirnie (19) put on a record first-wicket stand for Ireland in Test cricket with their partnership of 71.

The Irish recovered from a middle order collapse to post 250. The final total was bolstered by 59 extras and a last-wicket stand of 47 between Andy McBrine and No. 11 Matthew Humphreys.

Tanaka Chivanga (3-39) took his first three Test wickets while Blessing Muzarabani also impressed with 3-53.

Zimbabwe 210 and 12 for 0 (Gumbie 7*, Masvaure 4*) trail Ireland 250 (Moor 79, McBrine 28, Humphreys 27*, Chivanga 3-39, Muzarabani 3-53) by 28 runs.
