Wellalage routs Windies, SL level series: 2nd T20 (Dambulla)

Debutant Dunith Wellalage took 3-9 as Sri Lanka hammered the West Indies by 73 runs to level the T20I series 1-1 at Dambulla.

Chasing 163 for victory, the Windies collapsed to 89 all out in 16.1 overs — their fourth-lowest total in T20I cricket as the SL spinners spun a web.

Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and Pathum Nissanka anchored the innings with a well-made 54 off 49 balls. Kusal Mendis, Kusal Perera, and Kamindu Mendis helped SL post a challenging 162-5.

Sri Lanka 162 for 5 (Nissanka 54, Kusal Mendis 26, Shepherd 2-23) beat West Indies 89 (Powell 20, Wellalage 3-9, Asalanka 2-6, Theekshana 2-7) by 73 runs.
