Description:
Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium

The Bir Shrestho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Cricket Stadium is a key international cricket venue in Bangladesh with a capacity of ~22,000, established around 2004, hosting Test, ODI and T20 matches since 2006. Its evolution of naming reflects political and national-honour considerations.

In March 2025, the Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram was officially renamed the Bir Shrestho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Cricket Stadium. The change was made to honour Bir Shrestho Matiur Rahman, one of Bangladesh’s most celebrated war heroes from the Liberation War of 1971.

The ground was initially known as Chittagong Divisional Stadium (ZAKS).

The stadium offers modern infrastructure, floodlights, and has a pitch that provides a good contest between bat and ball especially as matches progress.
