
Dinanath Ramnarine was born on June 4, 1975, in Chaguanas, Trinidad and Tobago. He bowled leg-spin bowling with a quick action.
He played 12 Test matches between 1998 and 2002, taking 45 wickets at an average of 30.73, with best figures of 5/78. In One Day Internationals (ODIs), he appeared in 4 matches, claiming 3 wickets. His first-class career was notable, with 252 wickets in 68 matches at an average of 25.60, including 12 five-wicket hauls .
Ramnarine retired from international cricket at the age of 28 in 2002. He had a public disagreement with then-captain Carl Hooper during his final Test match against Pakistan in Sharjah in 2002 .
