Ajinkya Rahane: Worthy successor to Dravid
Ajinkya Rahane was born on 5 June 1988 in Maharashtra.
He is right handed top order batsman who made his first class debut in 2007 for Karachi. He made his T20 and ODI debut for India against England in 2011.
Rahane’s first Test century came in Wellington against New Zealand in early 2014. His defining knock came against England at Lord’s in 2015 when he put in a gutsy performance on a green top to score 103 and help India to victory.
When Virat Kohli stood down with a shoulder injury, Rahane took over as captain for the crucial and deciding 4th Test against Australia in Dharamsala in March 2017.
