Mitchell Josef Santner was born on 5 February 1992 in Hamilton.
He is a left arm spinner and a technically correct middle order batsman who made his first class debut for Northern Districts in 2011.
Santner made the New Zealand team for the tour of England and made his debut on 9 June 2015 in the 1st ODI. scoring 15 and taking 1-64 in Birmingham. He made his Test debut against Australia in the first ever day/night Test in Adelaide on Nov 2016. He shone with 31 and 45, whilst chipping in with 1-54 and 1-8 with his spin.
