Aussies gain consolation win, Proteas move to No 1: 5th ODI (Jborg)

Australia regained their world number two ranking with a comfortable 47 run win over South Africa in the fifth and final one day international.

Australia took advantage of being given first use of an excellent batting pitch by making 303 with a century opening stand from Clarke and Haddin laying the foundation.

A second wicket stand of 104 between Gibbs 82 and Kallis gave the Proteas hope but a middle order collapse triggered by Nathan Hauritz cost them the match.
