Record AB knock and pace rout Kiwis: 3rd ODI (Wellington)

Skipper A B de Villiers became the fastest to score 9,000 ODI runs as South Africa thrashed New Zealand by 159 runs to go 2-1 up in the 5 match series.

Pacemen Pretorius took 3/5 and Phehlukwayo took 2/12 as South Africa bowled out New Zealand for only 112 in 32.2 overs.

Earlier, the record-setting performance by de Villiers (85) got South Africa to 271 after a late stumble. de Villiers reached the 9,000 run milestone in his 205th innings, overtaking the record of 228 held by India's Sourav Ganguly.

South Africa 271 for 8 (de Villiers 85, de Kock 68, de Grandhomme 2-40) beat New Zealand 112 (de Grandhomme 34, Pretorius 3-5) by 159 runs.
