Pakistan book spot in Super 4 after Fakhar rescue act: 2025 Asia Cup No 10 (Dubai)

Pakistan booked their place in the Super Four of the 2025 Asia Cup with a 41-run win over UAE in Dubai.

Batting first, Pakistan started with a wobble losing 2 early wickets. They posted 146/9, with Fakhar Zaman steadying the innings with 50 off 36 balls and Shaheen Afridi adding a late flourish of 29* off 14. UAE’s Junaid Siddique (4/18) and Simranjeet Singh (3/26) troubled the top order.

Pakistan’s bowlers hit back strongly in the chase. UAE were bowled out for 105 in 17.4 overs, with Rahul Chopra (35) the lone bright spot. Shaheen (2/16) and Abrar Ahmed (2/13) led a disciplined attack.

The game was delayed by an hour due to a dispute over the match referee, but once play began, Pakistan ensured progress while UAE were eliminated.

Pakistan 146 for 9 (Fakhar 50, Afridi 29*, Siddique 4-18, Simranjeet 3-26) beat UAE 105 (Chopra 35, Abrar 2-13, Afridi 2-16) by 41 runs.
