1990: Pringle last over maiden delivers dramatic 1 run win (Hobart)

In a dramatic finish to the 10th Benson and Hedes ODI in Hobart, Australian last man Bruce Reid was run out off the last ball of the match as New Zealand bowler Chris Pringle defended two runs to win the game by one run for New Zealand.

Australia required two runs to win with one wicket when the last over started. Reid swung and missed at the last delivery, and the ball was gathered by the wicketkeeper, who ran him out as Reid and his partner failed to complete a run.

Here are the details of the magical maiden over delivered by Pringle to win the match:

Ball 1: Pringle's first ball slid down the leg-side; Reid swung and missed.

Ball 2: A full, wide ball outside off-stump that Reid missed.

Ball 3: Reid managed to get his bat on the ball but played it to a fielder.

Ball 4: Reid attempted a wild swing and missed.

Ball 5: Reid swung again and missed.

Ball 6: Reid run out attempting to take a run, NZ win by 1 run.
