Marsh saves Aussie blushes to win series 2-0: 3rd T20 (Bay Oval)

Skipper Mitchell Marsh delivered a brilliant performance at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui, scoring an unbeaten 103 off 52 balls to power Australia to victory in the 3rd T20 against New Zealand.

His dominant century led Australia to chase down New Zealand’s total of 156 for 9 comfortably, winning by three wickets with two overs to spare. This innings not only secured the match but also sealed the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy series victory for Australia, who won the series 2-0 after the second match was abandoned due to rain.

Marsh’s commanding knock was pivotal, showcasing exceptional skill and composure under pressure.

Earlier, New Zealand posted a total of 156 for 9 in their innings. Tim Seifert was the top-scorer with 48 runs, providing stability after early wickets unsettled the innings.

Australia 160 for 7 (Marsh 103*, Neesham 4-26) beat New Zealand 156 for 9 (Seifert 48, Abbott 3-25) by three wickets.
