2001: McGrath and Gillespie knock over England (Lords)

Glenn McGrath was the key destroyer as Australia beat England by eight wickets to go 2–0 up in the 2001 Ashes.

England were dismissed for 187 in the first innings (Glenn McGrath 5/54) but Australia replied with 401 — paced by Mark Waugh’s 108 and Adam Gilchrist’s 90.

England managed 227 in the second innings (Mark Butcher 83), where Jason Gillespie took 5/53 and McGrath picked up 3/60.

Australia then chased the tiny target of 14, finishing 14/2. Glenn McGrath was named Man of the Match.
