Hope, Athanaze help Windies clinch series win over Bangladesh after collapses: 2nd T20 ...

After two strange collapses, West Indies defeated Bangladesh by 14 runs in the second T20I at Chattogram to seal the series 2–0.

Batting first, the visitors posted 149 for 9, led by half-centuries from Shai Hope (55 off 36) and Alick Athanaze (52 off 33). The Windies collapsed from 106-1 to 149-9.

In reply, Bangladesh began brightly through Tanzid Hasan’s 61 off 48 balls, but the middle order faltered against disciplined bowling from Romario Shepherd, who took 3 for 29, and Akeal Hosein, who claimed 3 for 22. The hosts slid from 117-3 and eventually finished on 135 for 8, falling short despite a promising start.

The win gave West Indies an unassailable lead in the three-match T20 series.

West Indies 149 for 9 (Hope 55, Athanaze 52, Mustafizur 3-21) beat Bangladesh 135 for 8 (Tanzid 61, Hosein 3-22, Shepherd 3-39) by 14 runs.
