Taijul, Murad seal innings win over Ireland: 1st Test, Day 4 (Sylhet)

Bangladesh crushed Ireland by an innings and 47 runs in the Sylhet Test, powered by a massive first-innings total built around Mahmudul Hasan Joy’s superb 171, Shanto’s fluent century and Mominul’s 82.

Ireland showed patches of resistance—Stirling and Carmichael steadied the first innings, while McBrine and Neill fought late in the second—but they were outclassed by Bangladesh’s spin-heavy attack, with debutant Hasan Murad and Taijul Islam sealing the victory on Day 4.

Bangladesh 587 for 8 dec (Mahmudul 171, Shanto 100, Humphreys 5-170) beat Ireland 286 and 254 (McBrine 52, Stirling 43, Murad 4-60, Taijul 3-84) by an innings and 47 runs.
