Brilliant Markram ton trumps Kohli, Gaikwad centuries: 2nd ODI (Raipur)

South Africa levelled the ODI series 1–1 with a thrilling four-wicket win over India in Raipur, successfully chasing down a massive 359 after Aiden Markram’s superb century anchored their innings.

Earlier, India posted 358/5 on the back of brilliant hundreds from Virat Kohli and Ruturaj Gaikwad, but their bowlers struggled to contain South Africa’s composed chase.

Key contributions from Temba Bavuma, Matthew Breetzke and a rapid Dewald Brevis innings kept the visitors on track, before Corbin Bosch finished the job in the final over. Despite India’s strong batting effort, South Africa’s disciplined pursuit and depth under pressure proved decisive in a high-scoring contest.

South Africa 362 for 6 (Markram 110, Breetzke 68, Markram 54, Arshdeep 2-54, Prasidh 2-85) beat India 358 for 5 (Gaikwad 105, Kohli 102, Jansen 2-63) by four wickets.
