De Kock delivers crushing win over India, Proteas level series: 2nd T20 (Chandigarh)

Quintin de Kock delivered a scintillating innings as South Africa produced a strong comeback in the 2nd T20I of their 2025 tour of India, held in New Chandigarh (Mullanpur) on December 11, 2025, by defeating India by 51 runs to level the five-match series 1–1.

After winning the toss and bowling first, India couldn’t contain the Proteas’ batting as South Africa posted 213/4 in their 20 overs, with de Kock starring with a fluent 90-ish innings at the top of the order.

In reply, India’s chase faltered with regular dismissals, eventually being bowled out for 162 in 19.1 overs despite a valiant 62 from Tilak Varma, and Ottneil Baartman’s four-wicket haul played a key role in restricting the hosts.

De Kock’s innings earned him Player of the Match honours as South Africa’s disciplined all-round effort squared the T20I series.

South Africa 213 for 4 (de Kock 90, Ferreira 30*, Varun 2-29) beat India 162 (Tilak 62, Baartman 4-24, Jaansen 2-25, Ngidi 2-26, Sipamla 2-46) by 51 runs.
