Mitchell upstages Rahul as NZ level series: 2nd ODI (Rajkot)

Daryl Mitchell smashed a superb century as New Zealand levelled the series by beating India in the 2nd ODI of the 2026 series, chasing down 285 to win by 7 wickets with more than two overs to spare.

Batting first, India posted 284/7, built around a classy unbeaten 112 from KL Rahul, with Shubman Gill adding a fluent half-century.

In reply, New Zealand produced a superb chase led by Mitchell’s match-winning 131*, well supported by Will Young’s 87, as the visitors paced the pursuit calmly to register one of their most impressive ODI wins on Indian soil.

New Zealand 286 for 3 (Mitchell 131*, Young 87, Prasidh 1-49) beat India 284 for 7 (Rahul 112*, Gill 56, Clarke 3-56) by seven wickets.
