Ajax buries India, NZ create history with 3-0 whitewash: 3rd Test, Day 3 (Mumbai)

Spinner Ajaz Patel took 11 wickets as NZ won the series 3-0 to become the first side ever to whitewash India in a Test series at home of three or more Tests.

Wicket keeper Rishabh Pant struck 64 and almost took India home. His dismissal was the final nail in the coffin of India. Ajaz took 6-57 and Glenn Phillips took three wickets for 42 as India were spun out for 121 as the visitors won narrowly by 25 runs.

Earlier, Jadeja took 5-55 as India bundled out NZ for 174 runs in 45.5 overs, setting a target of 147 runs.

New Zealand 235 (Mitchell 82, Young 71, Jadeja 5-65, Washington 4-81) and 174 (Young 51, Jadeja 5-55, Ashwin 3-63) beat India 263 (Gill 90, Pant 60, Ajaz 5-103) and 121 (Pant 64, Ajaz 6-57, Phillips 3-42) by 25 runs.
