England survive last ball scare to beat Nepal: T20 World Cup No 5 (Mumbai)

England survived a major scare to edge Nepal by just 4 runs in their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Group C match at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

Batting first, England recovered from early setbacks to post 184/7, built around fluent half-centuries from Jacob Bethell (55) and Harry Brook (53), before Will Jacks’ unbeaten 39 added crucial late momentum.

Nepal responded with fearless batting and pushed England all the way, finishing on 180/6. Dipendra Singh Airee (44), Rohit Paudel (39) and Lokesh Bam (39)* kept the chase alive deep into the final over, but England held their nerve at the death, with Sam Curran defending the target to seal a narrow win in a thrilling contest.

England 184 for 7 (Bethell 55, Brook 53, Jacks 39*) beat Nepal 180 for 6 (Airee 44, Bam 39*, Paudel 39, Dawson 2-21) by four runs.
