Ngidi stops promising Canada reply in tracks: T20 World Cup No 9 (Ahmedabad)

South Africa beat Canada by 57 runs in their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Group D match played at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

Batting first, South Africa piled up a commanding 213/4, powered by aggressive top-order hitting that put Canada under pressure from the start.

In reply, Canada fought but never truly threatened the chase, finishing on 156/8 in their 20 overs. Lungi Ngidi led South Africa’s bowling attack with key wickets and was named Player of the Match, as South Africa topped Group D with a convincing win.

South Africa 213 for 4 (Markram 59, Miller 39*, Ansh 3-31) beat Canada 156 for 8 (Dhaliwal 64, Ngidi 4-31) by 57 runs.
