Dube steadies India in narrow win over Nederlands: T20 World Cup No 36 (Ahmedabad)

India edged past Netherlands by 17 runs in their Group A clash at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

India struggled to post 193/6 in 20 overs, powered by a blistering 66 off 31 balls from Shivam Dube, with Suryakumar Yadav contributing 34 and Hardik Pandya adding 30 to lift the total after early setbacks.

The Netherlands responded with a competitive 176/7 in 20 overs, led by Bas de Leede’s 33, but fell short in the chase of 194. India’s bowling attack kept control in the middle overs, with Varun Chakaravarthy returning 3/14 and Dube chipping in with 2/35, sealing India’s unbeaten run through the group stage.

India 193 for 6 (Dube 66, Suryakumar 34, van Beek 3-56, Dutt 2-19) beat Netherlands 176 for 7 (de Leede 33, Varun 3-14, Dube 2-35) by 17 runs.
