Harbhajan Singh pulled Sri Lanka back with a fourwicket burst late in the final session. Earlier Viru Sehwag became only the second Indian batsman to carry his bat with a superb double century. Sri Lanka dismissed the last six Indian batsmen for 51 runs to have them all out for 329. Newcomer Ajantha Mendis took his best test figures of 6112.
