England thrash India after Brook, Salt blitz: 4th T20 (Bristol)

England clinched the five-match T20I series with a game to spare after a commanding nine-wicket victory over India in the fourth match at Bristol.

India were restricted to 158/7 after being asked to bat, with captain Shreyas Iyer carrying the innings through an unbeaten 80. England’s bowlers kept the pressure on throughout, with Jofra Archer and Josh Tongue taking two wickets each to prevent the visitors from building any significant momentum.

The hosts made a mockery of the chase, reaching 159/1 in just 13.5 overs. Harry Brook led the charge with a blistering unbeaten 79 from 35 balls, while Phil Salt struck an unbeaten 59 as the pair shared an unbroken 146-run partnership for the second wicket.

The emphatic victory gave England an unassailable 3-0 lead after the rain-affected opener and secured their first-ever bilateral men’s T20I series triumph over India.

England 159 for 1 (Brook 79*, Salt 59*) beat India 158 for 7 (Iyer 80*, Archer 2-20, Tongue 2-36) by nine wickets.
