Bangladesh stumble as Ngarava inspires Zimbabwe win: 1st T20 (Bulawayo)

Zimbabwe began the three-match T20I series with a 32-run victory over Bangladesh at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo.

Batting first, the hosts posted 170 for 6, with Brian Bennett top-scoring with 40, while Ryan Burl’s unbeaten 28 provided a late boost. Bangladesh fast bowler Nahid Rana claimed 4 for 31 but received little support as Zimbabwe finished with a competitive total.

Bangladesh struggled throughout the chase and were bowled out for 138 in 19 overs. Towhid Hridoy top-scored with a fighting half-century, but Zimbabwe’s pace attack proved too strong, with Richard Ngarava and Blessing Muzarabani taking four wickets each.

The win gave Zimbabwe a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

Zimbabwe 170 for 6 (Bennett 44, Rana 4-26) beat Bangladesh 138 (Yasir 54, Muzarabani 4-17, Ngaraga 4-26) by 32 runs.
