Bavuma century leads Proteas to series win over Australia: 2nd ODI (J’burg)

Skipper Temba Bavuma led from the front as South Africa sealed the three-match ODI series with a 32-run victory over Australia in the second ODI at the Wanderers, Johannesburg.

Batting first, the Proteas posted a formidable 365/9, led by Bavuma (103) and supported by a spectacular 142 off 93 balls from David Miller. Bavuma repaired the early damage and the explosive innings from Miller provided the decisive acceleration and helped South Africa build a daunting total despite losing wickets regularly.

Australia mounted a determined chase but were eventually bowled out for 333 in 49.5 overs, falling 32 runs short. The result gave South Africa an unassailable 2–0 lead in the series with one match remaining.

Miller’s 142 earned him Player of the Match honours.

South Africa 365 for 9 (Miller 142, Bavuma 103, Edwards 5-67) beat Australia 333 (Marsh 84, Head 84, Williams 3-54) by 32 runs.
