Sachin breaks record, puts India ahead: 2nd Test, Day 1, Part 2 of 2 (Mohali)

In the post lunch session Sachin Tendulkar scored the required 15 runs to put him ahead of the record for the most runs scored by a batsman in Test cricket overtaking the mark set by West Indies' Brian Lara .

Tendulkar 88 and Sourav Ganguly 54 not out put on 142 runs to take India to an imposing 311-5 at the close.

They came together at 163-4 after the quick loss of Dravid Gambhir and Laxman in the space of 17 runs.
