1975: First ever world cup game as India play for draw

In the first ever game in a world cup India opted for batting practice as they meandered to 132-3 in 60 overs with Sunil Gavaskar getting a painstaking 36 in 174 balls.

Earlier Dennis Amiss scored the first ever century in a world cup with 137 in 147 balls as England smashed India for 334-4 in 60 overs.
