Shock: KP quits captaincy in coaching row
English cricket has been plunged into confusion after Sky Sports reported that Kevin Pietersen has resigned as national captain and Peter Moores has resigned as coach. Andy Flower has been offered the role of interim head coach for the forthcoming tour to the West Indies but may turn it down. Andrew Strauss has been installed as the bookies' favourite to succeed Pietersen as captain. Jan 2009.
