Mahela and Thilan dominate Pakistan: 1st Test, Day 1 (Karachi) - Part 1 of 2

Outgoing skipper Mahela Jayawardene 136 not out and Thilan Samaraweera 130 not out put on a double century stand as Sri Lanka finished in a commanding position of 406-3.

The Sri Lanka captain was dropped three times by Pakistan who were playing their first Test for 14 months as he made his first test ton against Pakistan.

Earlier debutant Tharanga Paranavitana was out to the first ball that he faced but Kumar Sangakkara 70 and Malinda Warnapura 59 put the visitors on top.
