Laxman and Gambhir conjour great escape: 2nd Test, Day 5 (Napier)

India maintained its 1-0 lead as VVS Laxman hit his 14th Test century to earn a high scoring draw with New Zealand.

Resuming on 252-2, India soon lost Sachin Tendulkar for 64. Gautam Gambhir fell for 137 after nearly 11 hours at the crease.

Laxman and Yuvraj Singh 54 not out scored at a rapid rate to ensure they finished safely on 476-4 after batting for more than 2 days to save the Test match.
