Shoaib Malik ton powers Pakistan to strong position: 3rd Test, Day 3 (SSC)

Two century partnership anchored by Shoaib Malik first with MisbahulHaq and then Kamran Akmal put Pakistan in a strong position at the close. Pakistan had slumped to 67 for 4 when Malik joined Misbah in the middle and after some initial circumspection the duo wrested the initiative back from the bowlers. The fall of Misbah did not provide any respite to Sri Lanka and Akmal joined Malik to put on an unbeaten stand of 114 at stumps. With five more wickets in hand and the cushion of an already imposing lead Pakistan have a consolation win in sight. Day 3 3rd Test. SCC. July 2009.
